MY FAVORITE BEACHES IN LA PAZ!

My Two Absolute Favorite Beaches Close To La Paz!

For solitude, swimming, and sun Playa El Caimancito!

I love Playa EL CAIMANCITO BEACH. It is literally 10 mins from middle of town and close to “heaven”. Just far enough people do not know much about this beautiful beach. Plenty of parking for many cars and you typically park 25 yards from the “white” sand and 75 yards from the crystal-clear blue water! Rarely more than 10 cars parked and mostly local families. Rarely do I see tourists there. It has the look of the waters of the famous Balandra Beach with no traffic and perfect for swimming, and snorkeling and still so close to town or Costa Baja/Puerto Cortes. It is so nice, I am almost afraid to tell others about it, but since you are on my webpage, go for it! Oh also, it is literally 10 mins from the Penthouse.

The beach has beautiful white sand and 4 palapas for your shade and use. There are no waves so it makes a wonderful place to bring your young children and their inflatable toys to frolic in the shallow waters with an average water temperature of 26c or 78 Fahrenheit.

Pack your car with a cooler full of food and beverages, along with beach chairs and umbrella and enjoy a relaxing incredibly day. It will be a highlight of your beach experiences! So easy to unload the kids, chairs, towels and more…Try it!

Playa Caimancito en La Paz

Playa el Caimancito

For swimming, sun, great food, drinks, and Margaritas Playa Tecolote!

TECOLOTE is my favorite “go-to” beach to meet new friends and old. It is located approximately 20 minutes north of La Paz, a very easy drive on wonderful roads. There is so much energy here. You can sit on the beach in their lounge chairs, tables and umbrellas and have a waiter bring you food and drinks and enjoy great food, music from local bands and have some “kick butt” beverages while enjoying the sun and a swim in the refreshing water. If you are looking for a beach to party, drink and have fun, this is the beach for you but still wonderful for children to play in the water.

If you prefer sitting in the shade at a bar type place, Palapa Azul is a winner due to the service and food let alone the laid back atmosphere. There are other “nicer” places at Tecolote, but the locals, Canadiens and Americans seem to gather here under the Palapa Bar.

They have good food, “Snoopy” mans the bar and can make you a great margaritas! Two and you will fall off your stool, I have seen it! You will always feel welcomed and sure to meet many others.

The beach stretches for approximately 6.5 miles of white sand and crystal blue water offering you much seclusion if you prefer but still food and liquor close by. Sitting on the shore you have a wonderful view of the famous Espiritu Island. If you prefer water sports you can enjoy jet skis, paddle boards, kayaks, or swimming in their “zoned” area for your pleasure. Rarely rough water and only when the North winds are blowing hard will you have any real waves, even then, not much of a wave compared to Cabo or the Pacific sides of Mexico.

This is a great place to chill with old friends and make new friends.
